Killer Obsession
June is for Murder… but this week it’s obsessive, artistic, and just a little bit disturbing, because we’re diving into There Are No Saints — a story where beauty and brutality blur together.
Book of the Week:
There Are No Saints by Sophie Lark

The Book
There Are No Saints gives us Cole and Mara: two people drawn together by obsession, tension, and a connection that never feels entirely safe. Their story is sharp, unsettling, and built on boundaries that only exist to be crossed. It proves that sometimes fascination doesn’t stay harmless… it turns into something far more consuming.
Trigger Warnings

Ratings
Overall Rating: 2.5 Stars ⭐⭐✨
This one just didn’t hit the way I wanted it to. Cole is arrogant, detached, and almost entirely self-serving—and not in a way that made him compelling, just frustrating. He never crossed into “dark but intriguing,” which made the romance hard to invest in. Mara felt like an afterthought in her own story, and overall, it just didn’t leave a lasting impression. Not a bad read… just not a memorable one.
Spice Level: 3 Flames 🔥🔥🔥
This one is more intense than it is sexy. The scenes fit the darker tone of the story, but the dubious consent elements made it harder for me to fully enjoy them. It’s memorable, but not for the reasons you might expect.
Quote of the Week
Cole: I’m starting to realize that what entices me about Mara is the contact high I get when I’m near her. She feels things so intensely that it makes me feel them too.
Fan Casting
Mara → Kristine Froseth
Restless, raw, and relentlessly self‑sacrificing.
Cole → Jon Kortajarena
Cold, calculating, and completely self‑serving.
