I am fully obsessed with the writing style in this book. The prose feels intentional and layered, with beautiful nods to classic literature woven seamlessly into the story. The tone is poetic, tension-heavy, and deeply intellectual without feeling inaccessible.

Atta is a strong, capable heroine who never feels overshadowed by the world around her, and the atmosphere is immersive in a way that feels almost sentient — dark, gothic, and quietly seductive, as if the setting itself is watching.

The ending felt slightly rushed and left me with questions, but the experience was too strong to cost it a star.

Spice Level: 2 Flames 🔥🔥

The spice here is restrained and intentional. The tension between Atta and Sonder builds slowly, and they do not cross that line until Atta is no longer a student at Trinity. When they finally come together, the scenes feel more “cracked door” than fully open.
