Poly Love: Ensnared

February has been all about Types of L-O-V-E, and we’re closing out the series with a love story that refuses to fit into a traditional box: Poly / Why Choose Love.

Ensnared by Rebecca Quinn

Book 1 in the Brutes of Bristlebrook trilogy

Available on Kindle Unlimited

The Book

Ensnared drops us into a post-apocalyptic world where survival isn’t optional — and neither are the complicated dynamics that come with it.

At first, this isn’t a story about confident poly empowerment. It’s about survival and about navigating a new reality where safety, protection, and belonging come at a cost. The central question isn’t “Why choose?”, it’s “Do I even have a choice?”

Through much of the book, Eden struggles to find her place among already established relationships, battling the fear that the only thing she brings to the table is her body. In that tension, she begins to articulate what she wants, understand and claim her own desires, and discover that equality doesn’t just happen — it must be demanded.

At its core, this book isn’t just about kink (though yes, there is plenty). It’s about trust, communication, and building something unconventional and choosing to make it work.

Ratings

Overall Rating: 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book is bold, immersive, and emotionally layered. The group dynamic is complex, the tension stays high, and the survival stakes add real weight to every decision. Poly romance only works when the emotional groundwork is solid — and Ensnared earns it by centering Eden’s journey toward agency and equality.

Spice Level: 4 Flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Ensnared is heavy on kink, longing, and explicit tension, though the physical progression is intentionally paced. Much of the book focuses on anticipation, power dynamics, and uneven intimacy, with deeper exploration largely reserved for Jayk and more fully developed in book two.

The quantity of spice is undeniable — explicit scenes, charged conversations, and constant underlying desire earn this one its four-flame rating. If you prefer your romance traditional, this may push boundaries. If you love expansive love stories with layered chemistry, you’ll be right at home.
